The SARS-CoV-2 pandemic adds thousands of positive diagnoses every day, has spread to more than 180 countries, infected 2,332,627 people and killed at least 160,766 citizens worldwide as of April 19, causing lockdowns and forcing governments to urge people to stay apart from one another.
In Spain, as of yesterday COVID-19 left 195,944 infection cases and 20,453 died in hospitals. Probably, this last figure is twice as much or more including our elders, who have lost their lives in rest homes and alone at home.
It’s a great opportunity to turn an emergency into a race of solidarity.
The Spanish government senior political positions, as part of the health campaign to curb the epidemic spreading of the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic, babble hollow improvisations. And there is already talk of valuing stronger measures to further retraint people’s mobility during the state of alarm. To justify their decision, they call for the closure of all non-essential activity.
The only economic activities authorized in a total closure scenario would be the transport of goods, pharmacy, food, supplying companies, petrol stations, insurers and banks, post offices, primary sector and media.

The Executive’s deliberate choice in the mortality underestimation of the pandemic, not interested in real terms that continues its disinformation campaign, is insane. They call it ‘unknown viral pneumonia’. The frozen truth.
We have a political virus & with that we cannot thrive. We need politicians who live in the real world & know what a company is. The most difficult when a leadership is to manage people.
We should get rid of all this political fat.
Recognize the attitude of each health group, from doctors to wardens, nurses, auxiliaries, kitchen & maintenance staff, and cleaning teams who are in direct contact with the Covid-19, who work without the necessary protective equipment, because of the titanic effort they are proving. And especially to those who face critical patients. Their dedication & work, with heartbreaking testimonies, in the struggle to slow down the flood of deaths this infection leaves behind are impressive.
I want to thank also those more than 400 Spanish companies & individuals who have donated money, food & basic protective material, which, in doing so, are allowing to alleviate the imperative situation.
Times are hard for all, because of the lack of social contact, because of the extreme measures implemented, for isolation, but above all because of the dimensions of a disease that has already claimed thousands of deaths.
I do remind you of the importance of taking all possible precautions to avoid becoming infected.
